On Shadows in the Ice, I worked as director, writer, voice actor, and editor. I wanted to make a short film that paid homage to some of my favorite 90s Japanese anime series, while simultaneously poking fun at the slow pacing and over-the-top drama often seen in these shows, all with an absurdist twist.
This project gave me the opportunity to experiment with 3D animation and Blender, and also to work with the Japanese language.
Synopsis:
Two Japanese warriors with mysterious pasts face off in an icy tundra...which is actually in a man's freezer.
